  • wow, I’m really surprised. we’ve all been eating this way for a while now and we each have different ways of washing. I’m so glad I asked. ;-) for me, I wash because I worry most about parasites. I’ve seen too many of those pictures online of flukes…
  • Really? I never heard of anyone not washing b/c of potential contaminants. I wash to get rid of anything harmful – bacteria and parasites mostly. I recently started getting my weekly bag of produce from a CSA that I joined and you can see what looks…
  • I like the list of superfoods and supplements provided by the JuiceFeast people: http://www.juicefeasting.com/JuiceFeastingIntro… They list a few options for “greens” and provide pretty detailed info on the benefits and how to use them. It also give…
  • I like this site: http://www.reusablebags.com/store/ In addition to “lunch box kits”, they have “wrap-n-mat” sandwich bag replacements that can double as place mats. It’s a great site!
  • chris, have you heard anything about when the irradiation is supposed to begin? I know about the Codex thing and 12/31/09. but have you heard any specifics about nuking greens? also, great example with Arcata. I wonder how broadly applicable this co…

  • chris! nice to see you back :-)
  • Zoe, thanks for the encouragement. If I remember correctly, you will be moving to Charlottesville, VA, which is a great location for local, organic small farms. I’ve lived near there for 5 years now and really cherish the great small farms here. If …
  • pianissima, I have to look for hope. After learning about Codex, I went into a very depressed and hopeless state where I couldn’t eat or sleep. My worry was so severe that my health began to suffer. I had to take a break from certain threads in orde…
  • in reading the washington post article, it looks like growers that plan to sell to wholesalers, retailers, food-service purveyors and producers are most impacted. (see below excerp) “The goal is creation of a national safety and certification progra…
  • leaflowers2 – here is where I recently bought my almonds. They’re definitely raw: http://www.almonds-from-california.com/ Another authentic source is: http://www.livingtreecommunity.com/
  • thanks for your blessed herbs recommendation. I’ve considered it for a long time, but it’s pretty expensive, so I wasn’t sure it was worth it.
  • 1 lb of almonds?!
  • try having a couple of mono-meals each day, instead of combining so many different things. I think that will help settle things down a bit. good luck!
  • sounds yummy!

  • I’ve used them in juice and in smoothies. They’re great and more nutritious than the root! If you put them in a smoothie in large quantities, they can taste a bit spicy. In juice, you hardly notice them. Enjoy!

  • I have been crying a lot lately, ever since seeing the Codex video. Before that, I would occasionally notice threads with Monsanto mentioned, but I didn’t know anything about it. Since watching the video, I have been doing a lot of research online a…

  • did anyone else read the part about the possible link between GMO cotton and the disease? interesting and scary theory. I buy 100% cotton pajamas for my toddler at Costco, which I’m sure are not organic. however, I bet they don’t have to label GMO c…
  • Very interesting indeed! Thanks for posting this, it really opens our eyes.
  • can you take coconut oil and mix in crushed cranberries? (or pomegranate seeds or raspberries?)
  • I was wondering if we could use large conservatories or domes to protect our organic gardens.
  • angie – I sure hope that’s the case. every day my son and I look for the bees. I’ll let you know if they don’t return soon. Last year they did something similar. They were fine, then we started finding dead and dying bees around our yard. Then, for …
  • I had a thought tonight and can’t go back to sleep, so here I am… Last week, our blooming trees were swarming with bees – bumble bees, honey bees, orchard bees, and ground bees. However, I’ve been watching and each day there are fewer and fewer bees…

  • I’m going to start another thread on the affects of irradiation to try to continue the awareness. It was unclear to me how nutrients will be suppressed under Codex and this explains how.
  • angie – you’re awesome
  • I guess I’m not very persuasive, because my husband just won’t buy it. He says that there’s no way that an international organization will influence domestic policy.
