  • Yes, the raw food books by Sarma and Matt have non-raw ingredients and lots of fat, but they are nice recipes for occasional treats.
  • Oh, cool! Congrats!! Looks like the restaurant gets awesome reviews. Happy Birthday! These sound interesting.....but nut/seed cheese sometimes is too heavy, even for people who regularly eat more fat. Lobster Thermidor - a terrine of tarragon and mu…

  • Avocadoes are tasty. :)

  • I don't think our bodies are suited to a processed food diet of nuts, seeds, clay, psyllium husk, crackers made from soaked and dehydrated this and that. Eat fresh, ripe fruit. NO FAT. No seeds, no nuts, no oils, no powders, just greens and fruit. I…

  • Might be from all of the high fat foods you're eating mixing with the fruit. Try to go low fat (10-15% calories from fat and actually track it because sometimes people underestimate), wait 24 hours, and then do mostly fruit and greens.
  • Welcome!!! :) Good to have you hear. I agree with Pixx that it's based on individual preference, but surely a diet of many nuts and seeds and oils and other processed foods is not the healthiest in terms of nutrients that your body needs, and they f…
  • Welcome! I love your passion. :)

  • If you think you can, you can. If you think you can't, you won't. ;)
  • With all due respect, I think people who regularly eat onions and garlic don't realize how offensive the smell is. My boyfriend eats garlic sometimes with his lunch or dinner, NOT realizing it (because he ordered out). I smell it on him immediately …
  • Thank you. :) I'm very happy and so is he. The OP was asking for low-fat raw options, so guacamole and crackers and Raw Revolution bars are out as an everyday thing, for sure.
  • Also, be firm in that you need to go to a grocery store. You HAVE to get your fruit calories in unless you want to fast. There is NO assuming that a restaurant will have something for you. They might have a little romaine salad - woo-hoo, about 50 c…
  • I don't think I'm picky, but I have similar standards to you: low fat (unless I want some fat, like avocado)/only natural, covert fats from fruits & vegetables, high fruit, plenty of greens, raw or at least 95% raw, fresh, little to no dehydrate…
  • I think it's good that you have no access to less-than-optimal dried and non-whole foods like goji berries and cacao. Get your fruit in, plenty of calories, fresh air, exercise and sunshine, and most of all, love. :D Come talk to us if need be!
  • I would think any fruit, but how you react to it also depends on how much fat you have eaten prior. Flaxseeds.....will bloat you up and then clean you out after a couple days, but drink a lot of water and be prepared for one day of bloat, perhaps.
  • Hi there!!!
  • I thought a lot of their stuff has non-raw ingredients, like maple syrup or maple granules. If you revive this thread or remind me in a couple days, I'll look at the book and tell you. It's packed up right now, as I am moving. :)
  • I think it's funny when people call raw foodism "new age" when it was actually the original way to eat. I guess it's "old age."
  • We can't put the determination in you.....you have to do this for yourself! :)
  • THESE ARE FRUIT: stuffed bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers I like how people who eat fruit are saying they don't.....and we wonder why people think non-dairy creamers actually have no cow milk powder or caseinate in them. Hey, whatever floats your b…
  • Maybe you don't do well with fruit because you have too much fat in your bloodstream? What are you eating? We'll try to help!
  • I don't know what to think after reading this thread. I know I won't be eating apricot seeds because I don't desire such crunchy texture, nor bad tasting foods. :)
  • Wichten, I agree that 811 is not for everybody, but I think it's usually mental/emotional issues preventing someone from successfully doing it.
  • curious, how long did you do 811 for and what was your fat?
  • You don't have to eat a single banana to do 811.
  • I think sweet fruits are much better to eat than cooked grains. Cooked grains are toxic and acid-forming to the human body. We can all say, "Rice is better than a cheeseburger," but why not eat the BEST instead of trying to choose the least worst? F…
  • definitely signed! thanks.
  • Fruit and greens salad and maybe a jicama salad too? depends on how you want to feel after you eat. if you need energy, go for fruit and greens. if you want to laze around a bit, jicama salad with avocado dressing. :)
  • Yeah, I'd say the dad as the burden of proof since he's the one trying to change your diet and he's teh one making claims that he can't back up.
  • i get my protein from leafy greens, non-sweet fruits, other vegetables, and sweet fruits. all you have to do is eat enough calories. YOU don't need the answer here. Sounds like daddy-boy needs to do some research - he seems to know very little about…
  • It feels good to naturally desire healthy food!
