  • What about just juicing the grass? Start out with just a tiny bit and see how you do?
  • I wonder what the big difference is between lawn grass and wheat grass used for juicing. Growing wheat grass seems like a huge pain in the butt. Now what if you could just pick some grass from your lawn everday and juice that!? (I agree that eating …
  • I made a delicious raw vegan stuffing last weekend as a test run that turned out great! I'm making it again and bringing to a family vegan Thanksgiving dinner this Saturday. Here's my blogpost with the recipe details and photo :-) http://beautifulli…

  • Raw Passion, those people who eat crap and have good skin right now are lucky and probaby young. But things will catch up with them eventually. Those same people may someday suffer from cancer, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, or other diseases cau…
  • Funny I'm struggling with something similar to this post. I've been coffee-free for over 2 months and have not noticed a single darn benefit. Now that it's getting colder in VT I'm really missing my morning cup of Joe. All the other coffee substitut…
  • Hi llindaaa, I've been raw for over 2 years now (about 90-95% depending on the week). It took me over a year to really notice any differences. Other people were noticing things that I didn't see b/c of the gradual process. The lines on my forehead w…
  • Yes, those carrot crackers are lovely! I made them a couple months ago thanks to Sv3's suggestion a while back. They would be great for this time of year too!
  • There's a german chocolate cake recipe in both Cafe Gratitude books: I Am Grateful and Sweet Gratitude. I haven't made them yet but have heard from others online that the recipes are good.
  • Just bumping this one up ;-) You also get a photo and certificate of your bird of choice when adopting one of the sweet turkeys on the Farm Sanctuary. Remember, you can start a new tradition. Family can be surprising sometimes in a good way. They ju…
  • I think a lot of people in this day and age are becoming more open minded about having a 'humane' Thanksgiving dinner. And there are just so many good options nowadays. Here is an amazing company that makes wonderful vegan meat substitutes: http://w…
  • bump :-) And besides Thanksgiving is about being with your loved ones and enjoying their company. I don't think anyone will miss the Turkey since there will be plenty of other great options, side dishes, trad thanksgiving veggies, lasagna, some raw …
  • Keep us posted on how things are going with your running. I like the whole idea of barefoot running. On a beach or nice clean grass would be great! Maybe when I'm in Costa Rica for a couple weeks in March I'll try running on the beach barefoot. Ther…

  • Might be kind of cold in the winter months for me ;-) Seriously I keep hearing nothing but good things about running barefoot. For me I live on a gravel/dirt road made with lots and lots of small rocks so it's not an option for my regular running lo…

  • Recently I have purchased young thai coconuts and found some with bright pink/purple insides. I got my money back for about 4 of them. Doing a little research online it seems there are different opinions on what exactly is happening. Some say it's t…
  • What's interesting is that the surgeon at Dartmouth Hitchcock medical center told my husband to avoid meat for his gallbladder. Terrible that your sister's doc said otherwise
  • Hi Greenlove, so sorry to hear about your sister. I'm posting my husband's story and hopefullly you and your sister will find it helpful. This account is not super organized since I have to leave the office soon but I wanted to write this before I g…

  • They both have their merits. Green smoothies have all the fiber. Green juices don't have the fiber which makes it quicker and easier to digest. I do green smoothies on a daily basis and want to start adding some juices as well.

  • I think Jennifer Cornbleet's book is lovely and not overly complex. A good book for just starting starting out with plenty of simple recipes would be Alissa Cohen's Living on Live Food.
  • That's awesome news about the Prana Cafe! Now I have 2 reasons to visit downtown Boston: Grezzo & Prana Cafe! I've heard good things about Rawbert's Organic Cafe in Beverly. I hope to visit that place too!

  • If I have an upset stomach or feel that something didn't sit right, I find that exercise seems to usually work, especially going for a nice run. But wait a bit after you have eaten as that could make it worse (a couple hours)
  • oh yes and for a quick simple cheese w/o probiotics, try Zoe's cheese with spring onions! I second that one!
