Nice to read ur postings. I live in Qatar, lots of date palms in roads and parks. Even i am proud to say i have a tree in our court yard.May be after a week dates will be ripe. The best dates i ever had are, from Saudi and from Iraq (I had them while i was working in Der-Ez-Zor Syria in 2001) they are long ones. The cost of a 4Kg box of fresh dates in Qatar is 10-12riyals approx. 3$
