Just thrilled

about raw foods!

I'm not actually, technically, a raw foodist... however, I recently began making the vast majority of my diet raw. I had been having persistent abdominal pain (it felt like my gallbladder, I believe) and really didn't want to go to a doctor, so I decided to switch to raw at least for the time being. Now just two weeks later I'm feeling great! Even still, I don't completely know all there is to know about a raw diet, but it's really great to learn.

I'd have to say the most exciting thing was finding a juicer at a thrift store for only $10!

Lunch for today:

- sprouted quinoa

- diced cucumber

- diced roma tomato

- green onion

- orange bell pepper

- a dash of apple cider vinegar (which... i don't think is raw? or is it? I'm still incredibly new to all of this)

all left to marinade over night. Quarter of a grapefruit on the side, glass of fresh apple/bell pepper/beet green juice to wash it down. Delicious!

I love raw food!

  • ACV is delicious! I'll have to look into getting it raw... I know I can get other Braggs goods around here, so it might not be too terribly hard to find.

I was thinking about the raw high and wondering exactly how long it would last or if I would get burned out on it, but the good news is I've got some major support from various loved ones who, although they aren't raw themselves, understand the health benefits and are excited to help out. It's really great... a good friend of mine says I have to make her and her family dinner once I've gotten the hang of it.

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure my parents think I'm crazy, but I think they've learned to just go with it these days.
