Just got a Dehydrator :)

I've wanted one for years and this year for my birthday my boyfriend bought me one. I have yet to use it and was wondering what are some of the best things to use in a dehydrator? I'm also very interested in making 'fruit leather' for a quick snack to have around.

If you have any ideas or suggestions please let me know~~

Thanks,

~ Lunar.Gypsy

Raisins, bananas chips (sliced very thin and soaked in a bit of honey), apple chips (coated w/ cinnamon, soaked in a little lemon juice)

    Enjoy :-)

I second kale chips! YUMMY :)

  • i love kale chips too

    i just made a double batch yesterday/today

another great thing for the dehydrator is any type of grainless bread or cracker or tortilla

there are lots of great recipes here

    try the onion bread

i've done that before and it's great

    more later

    enjoy your excalibur dehydrator

    it's a fantastic appliance

Another vote for kale chips here, they are delicious! Or you can make raw crackers or wraps.

ive wanted a dehydrator for ages think time to get one.

is there any recipe sites for what you can make in them?

    cheers

  • the excalibur comes with some recipes if i'm not mistaken (i rarely use the guide!)

there are lots of recipes on line

    or in raw food books

for many tasty dehydrated things from all types of jerky or fruit leathers to more elaborate preparations

    of

raw burgers, buns, breads, candies, chips and chocolate chips (i made these once...omg what a CHORE! but fun in the end!)

i love the 9 tray excalibur

if you're handy you can probably MAKE one

    but if not...worth the investment.
