Juice Feast Day 1

Ok, so I never thought I would embark on this one but am giving it a whirl. I am going to try to do one week. Originally it was supposed to be Mon-Fri but my friend tossed in the weekend...eek! I can see how this could be quite expensive. I read it would be about $100/wk. Didn't think that would be the case until I went shopping. I bought for half the week and it came to $48. WOW! It came out that much because I doubled the content of the recipes I saved thinking I might be starving if I didn't. Whether or not I need to drink all of it, I don't know.

This morning I made myself an awesome Immunity Drink

3 large celery

4 carrots

2 garlic cloves

2 apples

1" piece ginger

1 lemon

When I did the calorie counter it came out to about 344calories and 600ml juice. Now of course all the fiber was removed so I don't know how much the calories were reduced by.

Since I'm working I had to make my lunch juice this morning as well...hope that doesn't get funky!

I made some "Sweet Green Juice

2 cucumbers

2 carrots

2 apples

1/2 cup parsley

2 large celery

1 inch of fresh ginger

1 lemon

When I did the calories for this one it came out to about 356 and 700ml juice. Again, no clue was the calories were reduce by.

I thought it would be important to add up the calories because I do not want to wind up with too little. I'm a runner and I exercise so I do not want to be low on energy.



  • Sounds yummy! I'm starting one on Thursday...just the easiest day for me to start. I'm going to add some of the juices to the blender with bananas too. That could up the calories for you.

    Thanks for the idea. Good luck on your juice feast. Yesterday was a little strange. I actually had to force down that last BIG glass of juice. I was just not really hungry...don't know why. Anyway, this is what I juiced this morning for my day at work. Peppers Please turned out to be a lot of juice! That was pretty surprising. Hope I can drink all this :)

    "Blazing Beets=approx. 273cal 600ml

    3 Beets

    1/2 ginger

    1 Chile Pepper

    2 Apples

    1 garlic

    2 celery

    "Peppers Please=approx. 309cal 800ml

    2 red

    2 green

    1 cucumber

    2 carrot

  • Wow, I've never heard of juicing peppers. That sounds kind of good... ;)

  • I plan on starting a 2 week (hopefully) feast this week. I am concerned though about the cost involved. Also,with the weather warming up, lots of social functions are on the caldendar and most of course revolve around food. How do you hand being around others during your feast?

    i wouldn't exercise while juice fasting because you aren't getting enough calories from juice alone. my feelings on juice fasting are that you are resting your digestive system so you should be resting your other systems as well.

    juicing bell peppers is great and a good source of vitamin C.

    ive keep hearing the term juice feast is this the same as juice fast then?
