yeah, when I lived in Chile we had it all the time. The fruit on its own is kind of leathery and dry, but mixed into anything it leads a creaminess and flavor that is out of this world. use it in smoothies or even soups, or blend it with nutmilk. Lucuma ice cream is one of the most popular flavors in Chile, I never figured out how to do that one raw, but it sure would be yummy. Where’d you find it? In the grocery store?
I found the powder on a website, I’ll have to find which one but the people that make Maca Magic makes a blend with it in there. your description is spot on to theirs, I’m very intrigued to try it now especially if it tastes like ice cream!
You can find it at www.sunfood.com .
