The pumpkin pudding recipe on this site made an AMAZING pumpkin pie! That is certainly thanksgiving-ee!
I will be watching this topic too. This will be my first ‘Holiday’ season now that I’m raw. I am not tempted at all by cookies, pie, cooked animal flesh, etc. But it’s the social aspect that will be a challenge. Of course, I’d love to try some great raw holiday recipes too!
There are a few Thanksgiving recipes on the site (I’d love to see more)! I particularly like the apple cookies as something to bring easily to an event and, for starting with a traditional Thanksgiving feast, the parsnip pine-nut whip- is amazing! There are also a few cranberry relish recipes and pies.
To round things out, does anyone have a good recipe for a mock turkey? I had an amazing one at a raw foods un-cooking class. Perhaps I can convince the chef to share with the group…will beging working on it!
I would love to see a mock turkey recipe!! One of the foods that I miss from before I was raw was Tofurky…. I used to eat so much of that stuff. It is funny that since I have been vegetarian/vegan for so long, I don’t crave meat, but I crave soy protein! I will also be watching this topic to see what other good Thanksgiving recipes people will be posting. Coming from an Italian family, Eggplant Parmesan (pronounced “pardon-me-john”) is a Thanksgiving staple for us. Maybe I will work on creating a raw version of that to share…
So I posted my first recipe! Yeah! It is Noni’s Eggplant Pardon-Me-John which I will definitely be eating with my family during the upcoming holidays. Next I will work on a version of my mom’s delicious stuffing. Does anyone have a bread recipe that is close-ish to a “white” type bread?
Here’s a link to Alissa Cohen’s “Mock Turkey Loaf.” I’ve had it and it’s very tasty.

I created a Appel-Cranberry “Kruimmel”(Streusel) Tart which is a dessert that can be used for festivities. Here in NL, it is a pie for Sinter Klass and Christmas. I posted the recipe on this website with a picture. Good luck.
I’ve made this raw strawberry pie a few times, and each time I serve it to anyone they just loves it. Here is the link for it, it is about halfway down the page: http://greenoptions.com/2007/06/21/vegan_bbq_bu…
