raw grains!

hi everyone,
now i know grains are an iffy topic among many raw foodists, but i personally really like them sprouted, especially now when it is getting cold and a bowl of fresh fruit or a salad just won’t quite do it.
i also have found a new way of warming my food. i first set up my steamer like i normally would, but then i turn off the heat and let most of the steam escape. then i put whatever food i want to warm up in the steamer and let it sit for a few minutes with the lid on. the food gets just warm, and it is much faster than dehydrating.
does anybody else find raw oats or buckwheat (the only two i use) to be a good staple in the raw diet?

    hey elizabeth-

    thanks for the steaming tip!

i like buckwheat once in a while, but since reading RAINBOW GREEN LIVE FOOD CUISINE i don’t do oats (though i can’t ever find oat groats anyway)

this is so personal, some people do better with grains than others. if it doesn’t make you feel sluggish and heavy, then use your best judgement.
