How long will olive oil keep?

I finally bought a bottle of raw olive oil but I’m worried that it will not keep. I don’t use much at all and it’s so expensive I don’t want to have to toss it. I’ve been told a lot that olive oil goes rancid quickly but I don’t know how true this is. I guess this bottle will last me a couple of months. What is the best way to keep it?

We’ve always kept it in a cupboard, I have never known it to go off.
I read somewhere that you shouldn’t chill olive oil.

The non raw olive oil has been heated during it’s filtration process, and maybe to sterilise the bottle…neither of these things promote its shelf life, they are done for other reasons.

Just keep it in the dark or a dark bottle in a cupboard.
