Raw Seasonings?

SystemSystem Raw Newbie

Just trying to verify- are most organic seasonings raw? I know that on the dehydrator manuals, they always say to dehydrate herbs and spices at 95 degrees, even if they recommend drying fruit and vegetables at a nonraw temperature. So, would the organic seasonings/spices companies also dry at 95 degrees?

The best way to find this out would be to contact the company (i know that frontier is the source for the organic bulk spices at both my whole foods and my local co-op). But my guess is probably no. At the moment, I can’t imagine living without cinnamon, nutmeg, cayenne, etc., so I use them anyway. Comparatively, even when I use a ton of spices, they still amount to such a small proportion of my meals that I am ok with them not being truly raw. I do try to dry my own herbs, though, just because it is so easy to do so myself, and then they are fresh for longer.

Thank you. I will contact Frontier. :) I will post the response, for others, in this thread.
