Green Smoothies without foam

I am at the very beginning of the progression to RAW, and have just begun making green smoothies. When I use my vitamix, they end up with a lot of froth and foam. Is there any way to minimize this? Are there certain fruits and vegetables that cause more foam than others? I am drinking a green smoothie now made with an avocado, thanks to a recipe I read on this forum, and it is fabulous! In my SAD life, I never would have imagined this combination! (Lettuce, celery, parsley, avocado, lemon, and apple).
