Soaking nuts

Is it just a basic assumption that all nuts should be soaked in every raw recipe unless otherwise specified? I’ve made a couple of recipes without soaking the nuts, and it really seems to wreak havoc on my digestion as well as tasting overwhelmingly ‘nutty’. What do you think?

    I generally use soaked nuts for all recipes. Some recipes do call for dry nuts, so I keep a supply of soaked and dehydrated nuts on hand.
