How do you tell if olive oil has gone rancid? I’m incredibly sensitive to smell and whenever I open the bottle, I find it smells like alcohol. I really don’t want to use it, and anyway I much prefer actual olives. Could the plastic bottle have desintegrated into the oil?

And can you throw oil out by just emptying it in the sink? Or toilet? Hmmm…
