chickpea sprout weirdness

I have been sprouting chickpeas that I soaked for 24 hours for 3 days now, and the weird thing is, a few of them have sprouted, and the rest not at all. Is this normal, or a bad batch?

Maybe they are too old, if they are too old it sometimes happens. The best is to buy them in a busy place, where the turnaround of goods is quick. If you buy them from those big bags from your hfs, it sometimes happens that they are too old, because they usually don’t have the expiry date labelled. It happened to mee too.
