help please

Hey everyone. I just got my hands on a dehydrator and I thought that for my first experiment, I would try to make beet chips. Any idea about how long I should have them in there and at what temp?? Thanks a bunch! Ricki

I make veggie chips in my dehydrator at 105 degrees. The amount of time varies depending on the type of veggie. I just feel for crunchiness. Oh, and I take them off the teflex sheet and flip them half way through. It usually takes about a day.

  • My veggie and fruit chips never turn out crispy-any ideas?

Have them go longer? Make them thinner? We let things like that go for ages, until they are crispy at 95 degrees. Just keep them in there unti they are crispy, It’ll happen sooner or later – well, maybe later rather than sooner!
