7 avocados ripe now - what recipes can I make to use them & store?

I make Kandace’s “Spicy Tortilla” all the time, but that only uses 1/2 an avocado. I also just made a favorite dessert that uses 2 avos, but I still have 7 left! I guess I overbought these beauties. Does anyone have suggestions for recipes that will let me use up the beautiful avos I have that are ripe and ready now? I’m looking for recipes that will keep a couple of weeks – maybe that’s asking too much?


  • Hate to say it but avo’s have a very short shelf life. May I suggest freezing for future use? Just google “freezing avocados” for instructions!

  • make some guacamole and have a party?? hehe

  • make chocolate pudding… yum

    make ice cream and freeze… yum

    make double or triple batch of spicy tortilla…

    eat avocados with salt & lemon, or plain (my favorite way… most of mine don’t last long enough to be in a recipe!)

  • Thanks everyone. I ate one today on “Spicy Tortilla” Crackers (I dehydrated them completely and just love them that way, too) w/Mock Tuna, and sprouts. Yum. My daughter ate one last night as guacamole w/flax crackers. So I have 5 left in the frig and I may just go crazy with the Spicy Tortilla crackers since they keep so long, and get some desserts made. Thanks for the suggestions!

  • You can blend avocado with a little lemon juice and freeze it in ice cube trays. This can be handy for guac for lunch out. Make all the rest of it, then throw in some avo cubes and go. It’ll keep it cool and all you have to do is stirr at lunch time.

    how about a face mask and hair conditioner? Mayonnaise for you hair is great! Avo+olive oil+ lemon juice.
