freezing advice needed

I would like to know which fruits and vegetables are good after freezing( without becoming mushy or losing too much nutrition) . And, what is the typical steps to freeze them, like, do you need to soak them in some solution for antiaciding processes or others? I would like to buy in bulk when certain fruits are on sale and, also, spend less time shopping for fresh things. THank you very much.

  • Not sure about dipping them, but I have to tell you the only fruit I use frozen is my green smoothie fruit. I usually freeze mangoes, strawberries, raspberries, apples and pears. When I am about to declare refrigerator bankruptcy I will freeze my greens also, but I will only use them in smoothies after that, and I use double the amount of greens. HOPE this helps.

Most fruits can be frozen without too much of an impact but veggies generally don’t freeze well raw. Most of them have to be blanched first which kills the enzymes. Peppers and onions will freeze raw but they will also be softer when thawed.
