Need to hear some scary AND motivational things, please!

I need to hear some frightening facts about the health consequences of SAD foods : flour, sugar, dairy products (been having monster cheese cravings!). I need some genuinely terrifying information here! I

    Me 3 years ago: Type 1 diabetes, depression, hypothyroidism, overweight (I had also struggled with being underweight a few times before that), low energy, high cholesterol, chronic constipation my whole life… (I ate meat, cheese, sugar & white flour my whole life before that.)

    Me now: Type 1 diabetes (only 1/3 the amount of insulin needed now), normal cholesterol, normal thyroid, high energy, happy, stable healthy weight unless I get sick – and that’s only “high raw” most of the time. And I can poop now! When I have gone back, I quickly go back to low energy, constipation & needing a lot more insulin, and that’s even without eating white flour or sugar! It’s much worse if I eat those.

    My latest favorite SAD statistic:

    A recent random study of autopsies showed that 80% of people over 40 have some form of Cancer. Even thought it may not have yet shown itself on tests while they were alive and/or may not have been the ‘cause of death’ it was there, in 4 out of 5 people over 40.

    This one does it for me because I an 42 and if you know my history (see profile) you know I would have been in the 80% club for sure.

    I asked the same thing about bread on here about a month ago – I wanted to here something that would scare me into kicking my bread habit. So far, I am doing pretty good – I hardly ever have bread anymore and I am getting the healthy sprouted stuff as opposed to the sourdough stuff I love.

    chriscarlton – thanks for that statistic! I have a lot of cancer in my family – that showed up while alive &/or was the cause of death, and people with diabetes have a greater risk of getting cancer. I used to think “Just sign me up for chemo now, cuz it’s inevitable…” Now I don’t think about it at all, except when I had been using some paint regularly for a few months and then threw it out after I read the warning about cancer – I don’t need to tempt nature too much ;)
