soaking oat groats

when a recipe calls for 2cups soaked oat groats,do you put 1 or 2 cups to soak?Or are you suppose to measure after soaking? And how much do you measure before you soak them?

It depends who wrote the recipe – you would have to ask the person. If you want really raw oats, you can order oats for sprouting from www.sunorganic.com – oat groats aren’t really raw, even though they’re labeled that way. One of those things I didn’t know for a LONG time :)
