Why am I not hungry?

I am quite bewildered! I have been on various diets to lose only one surplus stone for health reasons ( South Beach, Atkins, GI you name it I have been on it) and the more I read the more I have been interested in going raw – I have been semi-vegi for a few years. I have been raw for the past week and I cannot understand why I am not hungry – none of the cravings for sugar or carbs that I usually have – I had a huge vegi thai salad about four hours ago and I am not in the least bit hungry – I have never felt this before on any of my diets. Why? – a very happy New Raw Fooder!

I’m the same way, it’s almost like I’ve lost my appitite, I just have no desire to eat, but what I do is yummy, raw and healthy :)

  • I’ve just gone raw myself about 9 days ago. I am an emotional eater, and also when I’m overtired. In another post, I expressed my disappointment that I haven’t lost weight, which I have a lot to lose, but there have been benefits. One of them is that although I do get hungry, eating raw helps me easily and naturally find that place where it’s time to stop eating, and consequently eat less because of it. I stay satiated for much longer periods of time. Also, no more cravings, or compulsive eating. Desire for sweets/pastry/ice cream are easily satisfied with fruit. When out socially with other people, there is no big fight with myself not to get the ice cream or other desert they are getting. Quite amazing. I believe this is all due by the elimination of many foods that might have been causing the cravings (white flour, sugar, etc) and that much more of my nutritional requirements are being met which otherwise created the nervousness which led to my compulsive eating.
