soak flaxseeds?

I soak my sunflower seeds but never thought to soak other seeds like flaxseeds or sesame seeds. Should I be doing that? Thanks!

Yes the things you can do with soaked flax are amazing! If you have a dehydrator then soak your flax and mix it with things to make flax crackers. Or soak and blend with extra water to make flax batter which is amazing dehydrated on it’s own, but mixed with onions and dehydrated it becomes fried onion rings, mixed with mushrooms it makes battered mushrooms, mmm! Mixed with avocado slices and dehydrated it becomes chip shop chips!

When you soak flax it goes very sticky and this can be off putting if you want to eat them un dehydrated. If you eat them dry don’t soak.

Soaking anything and everything is a good idea though, because soaking takes the enzyme inhibitors off and wakes the life in the little seed or nut up. It makes them easier to digest and always improves the flavour I think.

  • Ok, thanks. I will start that. And the flax crackers are a great idea! Mmm.
