Is homogenizing important??!!??

I read a couple of recipes recently (including one in Matt Amsden’s Rawvolution) and it says is the Nut Loaf recipe:

“Using Juicer and the homogenizing attachment, homogenize the almonds, walnuts, and sunflower seeds.”

How does one do this without a juicer AND homogenizing attachment. Also, do I actually need to do this? Can I just use my vitamix (which I typically use instead of a juicer)

Thanks for your help!

  • in making nutter butters and using the homogenizing (sp?) attachment, i’ve found that it makes into more of a doughy consistency than the vitamix. just run the nuts through the juicer with some oil.

Why not try the Spinach-stuffed meat loaf?

  • Please, anyone? I really want to make some nut loaf but I don’t know how to do it without the attachment.

Does anyone have any good recipes that do not acquire this?

I think the homogenizer is just to blend it together into dough – smoother than using a food processor.Try it in the Vita-mix, though. That would probably work; just be careful it doesn’t get too hot.
