Heavier foods without high fat?

I’m trying to find foods that are more filling than my usual shtick of smoothies, salads and nuts. Since I have a pretty good blender but don’t have a dehydrater I’ve been experimenting with soups. So far, the taste of a curried soup with greens, sprouted mung beans and sprouted barley has been OK, but the high cellulose content of the barley has been a bit much, such that it requres waaaaay too much chewing. Has anyone out there had good luck with a heavier soup that involves lots of sprouts…, or another good idea for making food that’s a but more robust, without a dehydrater? Thanks!

For me, heavier foods are rooty type vegetables, like broccoli and califlower. Anything that grows from the earth feels hearty and grounding to me. (as opposed to fruit, less hearty)

  • Hey, thanks for your suggestion Moth, I hadn’t thought of that, will try broc and calif in soups, which I think now that you mention them, there are some good recipes incorporating them on this site.
