agava vs. guava

is there a difference? I can find guava in the latino isle at the walmart but is this the same thing called for in some of the raw recipes?

    thank you so much, because what they had at walmart was a can of guava necter in a can as a drink. so i am going to wichita tomorrow and will ravage the health food store. I can’t wait. thanks again.sara
