And before taking either, should I get a blood panel to see if I have too much iron, or other mineral?
My husband and I take them at the same time; before meals. The powder mixed in fresh juiced vegetables, the tablets with water right before a meal. We use both and try to have them before every meal. That doesn't always work out because sometimes we just forget to take the tablets. And right now I ran out of spirulina tablets and am waiting for my order to arrive ... which seems to be on the slow boat from China.
Neither of us did blood panels first, because I don't believe you can OD on nutrients from a food source, and chlorella and spirulina are foods not supplements. Someone please correct me if I am wrong in this belief ...
I was taking the powders in smoothies, green smoothies and for some reason it caused serious gas and bloating for me. I switched to juice or tablets before a meal and have had no problems at all since. My husband never had the issue himself, and my friend who also was having the powders in smoothies did have gas and bloating too. Go figure.
