Hi all,
I've been vegan high raw for exactly 3 weeks now--about 75-80% I suppose...the non-raw stuff has been mostly steamed veggies and quinoa, although there have been one or two dinners w/brown rice or wheat crackers. And I have one cup of coffee every morning, but sometimes only get through half of it.
I have SO MUCH simus drainage!!! It is CONSTANT. And exhausting. I am blowing my nose allllll day long, and have had a mild sore throat. I do live in the midwest and it is winter, but still. I've never had this kind of simus "thing" as a nonraw person, even back when I ate dairy.
Is this detox? I didn't think I was raw "enough" to experience something so dramatic.
On a side note, has anyone done a sea salt/water cure for this?
Thanks!

The word is SINUS, not simus. I was trying to type while blowing my nose.
Anyone??
Yikes, jakkrabbit, I hope you're feeling better now! Thanks so much for sharing that...made me feel like I had nothin' to complain about.
Sisterbecky and germin8, thanks to you, too. It's really abated now, thank god. I appreciate the input. I guess, given where I live here in the Ohio Valley, it could easily have been allergies or (another) cold. It was so sudden-onset!
I'm having this too, major mucous/mucus draining to the point of queasiness, from eating high raw, and also from walking super slow--1 MPH while writing/doing email/research--on a treadmill and from the use of a far infrared sauna bag.
In full disclosure, I am aware of a tooth on the left upper side, as well as long-term unresolved need for wisdom teeth cavitation remediation (I am seeing a biological dentist to correct that in a month or so when I finish a big school project), that have infection and are likely contributing to this. I don't have tooth pain, per se, I just have pressure, and open, decayed tooth, and what I would call heat in the jaw bones at the site of the tooth and former wisdome tooth location.
The only thing that helps me to reduce the nausea from, that nasty infection mucous draining straight from my left sinus down my oesophagus/esophagus and into my stomach--UGH, so queasy-making--is to drink a sometimes warm blended drink made of two organic raw peeled lemons, and an inch of so of organic raw ginger, with pure water and a bit of stevia powder (from one of the two pure stevia brands that do not cause a sugar reaction in my body).
It is helpful to see that I am not the only person experiencing this. Much ease in movement through this stage of detox for everyone.
Thank you for posting this. I have had some severe mast cell/histamine reactions from eating corn, which was obvious due to eating a monotrophic meal of organic corn, and I thought I was not going to be able to breathe. I had to lie down a few hours, and just be with the physical symptoms until my body could detox the corn. I was not fully better until four days later. I had some mould/mold exposure previously, among other things, so food allergies, and histamine and mast cell reactions can pertain to that, and like you, I was glad to have a significant reaction to discover that corn is a big no-no for me.
