dry skin?

Hello! I’m kinda new here. I have been eating a raw diet for a little over a month and, while I feel better in just about every way and I have lost some weight, my skin is very very dry. I have never had a problem with dry skin before, so I’m not sure what might be causing this. I do eat fats (nuts/nut butter and avocado every day). Perhaps I need to change the types of skin cleansers I use? Any ideas?

I’ve been using coconut oil with great results! After I wash my face at night (I use lye soap) I massage coconut oil into my face. I smell terrific and my skin is so soft! I’ve heard of people putting it all over, too! I also oil pull 20 minutes every day with sesame or coconut oil and it has softened my skin every where. I’ve especially noticed how much better my dry feet look! Good luck:)

  • Thank you, Stefunk! I was not familiar with oil pulling so I had to do a little research. I love the idea of using coconut oil—it smells so good! Your help is truly appreciated by this newbie.

  • Stefunk:

How do you oil pull every where? I thought oil pulling was just a mouth thing?

Marienord-I don’t quite understand how oil pulling works on so many different things but it does. Just by pulling I have noticed differences in my skin, sleeping and waking, teeth, eyesight, hearing…it’s amazing! Read a little about it and it will change your life:)

Rawgramma-Glad I could help! I’m a newbie, too. There is a lot to learn but it sure is fun!
