Weight Loss and Skin Issues....

hey everyone! i am sort of new to going raw. i was raw for a teeny tiny bit last year, and after more research, i am ready to go raw! i was just wondering about weight loss and skin. i have about 60 more pounds to lose (i have lost 20 already) and i am wondering about loose skin. i read on a forum somewhere that raw foodists have less problems with loose skin than traditional “dieters”. i was just wondering if anyone could share their experiences. also, i was wondering about stretch marks/scars. has anyone had them improve with all the living food going into their bodies? i’m hoping they’ll improve, since i’ll be healing my body at the cellular level. any experiences anyone can share would be awesome!!

thanks! janna

  • Hi janana…I was on a website just recently and read that weight loss thru the raw diet causes your skin to keep it’s elasticity and not hang. It was either “Website Link”: http://www.annettelarkins.com or possibly http://rawnutrition.com Either way, it made me feel better because I have 65-70 lbs. to lose and my youngest daughter is afraid I’ll have a lot of loose skin. When I locate the exact website I read it on, I’ll let you know.

Found the website: http://www.beautifulonraw.com Scroll down and look to the right. You will find in italics an article about gaining and losing weight the quantum way. Click on it and it has the info you are looking for.

  • thanks sunny! i’m going to go take a look at it right now!

  • By the time I finally tried going raw, I had already been through some major weight loss regimens and had some very loose skin issues (pretty, i know) However, I found that skin brushing was my absolute best friend, along with eating a larger than normal amount of avo and other fats (which apparrently help skin transition without stretch marks) I brushed every evening and morning before showering and noticed fairly dramatic improvement within about two weeks. It seemed to wake the skin up and get it going, literally.
    Regards.
