  • Wow, I had no idea there were so many raw Christians here! I've been lurking for a few days, but when I saw this topic decided to sign up. I'm interested in eating more raw food, but not going 100% raw, as I don't see any reason to give up healthy foods like beans and bread. I'm glad to know that there are other Christians who believe that their bodies are God's temples!

  • Hello!

It's so nice to find a raw food community where I'm not banned from speaking about my Lord! (Not that I've lasted long in places like that....)

There are so many things God has confirmed to me lately, especially, about why He's led me down this whole, raw food path...but I confess, I was beginning to feel a little like Elijah, like there was hardly any others, but it's so wonderful to see so many here!

I really look forward to getting to know you all better!

I'm still reading through the many pages here, but am definately be looking forward to some raw fellowship!

    ~Anastazia~

    P.S.

There was a book recommended awhile back about the Essene Gospel of Jesus....nothing personal, whoever recommended it, but it's a different Jesus, & a different gospel than the Bible presents. I read it numerous times during my new age years, & it's very much a new age veiwpoint, adding & deleting/ommitting things that were never part of the Bible, or who Jesus Christ is...

    I felt compelled to say something, due to the interest expressed by christians when it was recommended...{we are our brother's (& sister's) keeper, right?}

  • Hi! I'm so glad I found this thread!! Its so great to read all these encouraging, helpful words from other Christians who are trying to be healthy & raw!

I've enjoyed this thread very much!

My husband and I were raw for 6 months last year,.., 5 months were awesome... I never felt better...then the 6th month I started having really bad digestive and energy issues and fell off... I think I know what my downfall was and what caused the extreme issues I was having... and I believe God has lead me back to this way of eating... as well as shown me my faults from last time around.

I'm also wondering if any of you guys have ever successfully made raw "chips" of any kind... I LOVE crunchy chips! esp, baked Kettle brand....

so if anyone knows of a 'chips' type of recipe please share!

  • I have seen the Kale chip recipe come up alot and gonna try it as soon as I track down some kale!

Hope all your health issues get straight soon Emily!

  • Hey, I'm taking a Financial Peace class for teenagers right now, and it's really good so far! I've learned a lot of helpful information so far.

  • Hey all. A little bit late to game I see as this thread has been going for quite some time. Born again with a burning passion for Jesus, who has lead me to this path of being raw vegan.

  • hi everyone, i am new to the site. It is great to know their are other Christians that are taking care of their bodies....I am a raw food chef in michgan... its hard to get the meat and potato state on-broad but they are coming around. I will be praying for you missemy....God wants you healed.

  • Hi everyone-- I know this post started a loonnnggg time ago and I've only read a few pages of the conversations that have been going on, but I just wanted to say hi to all my fellow raw christians on the site! Its great to have support, but even better to know that some of you are christians, as well. One of my main motivations for being raw was to keep my body clean and healthy: "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body." 1 Cor 6:19-20

I really am trying to live my life according to God's will-- even though the path right now is foggy and totally unclear: if we're supposed to walk by faith and not by sight, well then, I really have no choice these days.

Glad I'm not alone-- take care and God bless,

  • I am a raw Christian, and very thankful the Lord has given me this raw lifestyle! I've been raw off and on for about 1 1/2 years, and just recently made a decision to go raw all the way. It was a very natural progression that I sort of fell into over the past few weeks. I'm glad to have found this forum!

  • Hi all! I'm a raw newbie. And I'm a believer as well! Nice to see others here! :)

  • Well hello there yourself!! Yes I am new and just beginning my raw journey, but it's definitely wonderful to see there is another Christian gone raw! I notice a lot of websites where there is a lot of talk of "mother earth", but nothing about how God insisted that our bodies are our temples! I'm glad I landed on this site!

  • Yeayaieeeeeeeee!!! Hello Brothers and Sister's in Christ! It is so great to see others who love the Lord and raw food in one place! He has healed me through the passion to find the truth behind the 'health care' system that so many have put their trust and faith in. I look forward in standing with you all to leading others in the truth through the word and what it says about His promises!

  • Nice to see other followers of Christ in the raw movement. Hi everyone.

  • Hi! Just joined GoneRaw, great to see a Christian group here!! We recently moved from San Diego to Walla Walla, WA. Any Raw Christians in Eastern WA?

  • excited to join this topic. Our bodies are a gift from God and we should treat it as such. I've rededicated my life to Christ and I want to live a more virtuous, prosperous, and fullfilling life. I know that if I take care of the temple that GOD has graciously blessed me with, I know that I am abiding by his word and will.....I am a new Rawie and I am excited about this venture. I have researched and purchased great books about the Raw journey. My Excalibur is on order and I can't wait to make all of these great recipes for myself and family. I know that some of the foods aren't going to be to my liking but I know that most will.

Nice to meet everyone here and can't wait to hear all about your experiences as well.

  • Didn't read all the comments, but just thought I'd jump in and say HELLO! I am Mormon (YES, we ARE Christian). Just thought I'd wave to everyone :) One of the biggest reasons that I have been able to be open minded about going raw vegan is because of the Word of Wisdom and what our scriptures tell us.

  • I'm a Christian and I've been raw for over three years. Glad to know you're all here!

  • I am a Christian and just now starting a raw diet....... are you still here...

  • I am a Christian in the d.c. area also. I am coming off of cancer treatments and have been healed by God's grace. I am looking into alternative routes to extending my life, and tamoxifen does not seem to be the way I need to go. I have been eating organic for over 6 years and have tried the raw diet for one week, but didn't know any good recipes or own a dehydrator. I'm hoping to change that soon. I have found raw food world t.v. on youtube and looking at the recipes. I am a little discouraged at how the spiritualism, the master of the universe type language has settled in with a lot of the people who eat more naturally. I know this is dreaming, but I would love a community to go to where people thought like me about Jesus, food and healthcare. We are responsible for our own health, and it is ultimately in God's hands.

  • Thank you for the info, i have been going to a center called Natural Horizons Wellness Center in Fairfax, VA. This is closer to where I live then the other listed places. I like to think I have enough knowledge on my own to do a successful cleanse. My mom was a phd in nutrition and i have been a researcher the entire two years I've been sick. I recently transferred to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia, where my cancer then went into remission after 4 full months of treatment. I am ready to be done with my chemo, which has been fractionated. I am interested in learning about local schooling to get a masters in, but am not aware of all the health schools in the area.

I am a Christian, and vegan.  Going raw is very new to me.  And as much as I cook gourmet and complicated vegan meals, this is a vey new experience.  I am going back to work in dialysis unit, so will have to juggle long shifts and keep my man well fed.  We are unchurched but we do have a deep belief and faith.  Being a nurse, prayer is a huge part of my life.  We feel better spiritually being vegan but we are not activists.  We are kind examples of the vegan lifestyle without preaching it.

  • Hello, I'm a Jesus loving vegetable munching Christian. God has told me that it's going to help me a lot to eat this way, but to not give it a lot of thought and don't make it an idol or a religion out of it. I ate raw for 2 years starting when I was 18, but struggled with vanity and centered my life around it. I know God lead me to the diet because I was overweight and depressed, and I'm so grateful but I took it too far. So I went back to cooked foods (still healthier than before) for several years out of fear of being like that again. I started back on raw a month ago after getting over that fear and realizing it would help at this stage of my life with 2 kids and lots of ministry work to do. It's tempting to binge watch YouTube recipe videos and focus on it, but I'm making a decision to focus on things of God and let food just be food. It's good to encourage each other to keep our eyes on spiritual things. There are new age spirits attached to the "movement." If we just eat healthy and follow Jesus, it'll all be good. I know if Jesus tells me to eat a cheeseburger for whatever reason and break the perfection, I need to be willing.

I'm a Christian and have been wanting to start for a few weeks now...so glad I found this thread! Does anyone have any recommendations for books?

I also rarely meet Christians who are vegans or, for example, are engaged in a raw food diet.

I also rarely meet Christians who are vegans or, for example, are engaged in a raw food diet. Perhaps this is because Christians fast. However, I cannot speak with one hundred percent certainty because I recently began to believe in God. There was one very turning point in my life, and I didn't know what to do or do. Until a friend of mine suggested Making Disciples of Jesus Christ to me. I went to the service in this church, and my life changed dramatically. I even think that this year I will fast.

    Hello Everyone!

I am a Christian who has tried every diet you can think of, including going raw, which lasted for about 6 months and then I just slipped back into my old ways. I am looking into trying again but I don't think I can do it without a support group like this. Anybody still out there who can encourage me? This time I reread Genesis and it did speak to me about greens and herbs. I believe with the Lord's help I can succeed this time. I have gained a lot of weight plus other health problems. I can't fool around anymore! Thanks for listening! yaffar
