Dehydrator & bugs?

Hi, I’m new to raw, and I don’t yet have a dehydrator. My concern is that (since I live in the southern US) bugs will be a problem with a dehydrator. Ants, roaches, etc. Will they be attracted to the drying food? Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

    Hi Lou,

    I lived in Georgia for about 4 years and used my dehydrator while there. I never had a bug issue. If you keep it clean bugs shouldn’t be a problem.

    squirrels were committing suicide in my fireplace… no big deal …. lol oh and a baby bird once…. all while i was dehydrating sum yummy treats… and \ I live in GA… never a ant or roach problem… even when I forgot to clean the dehydrator ..
