Where do you get nettles and how do you prepare them? I have read that they can sting and that some are poisonous so I am wondering also how to avoid the stinging and poisoning.

    I usually forage mine from the hills where I live…with gloves on! They sting like hell!

    Just look in any hedgerow. You must only eat the young leaves though and yes, they will sting. If you use the old leaves, more than likely, you will get the runs.! ! !

    Oooo, I didn’t know that! rawspice, even though they sting, I heard that once you blend them into a smoothie they don’t sting… but, I haven’t tried it.

    Really thick gloves for harvesting!

    I have only ever baked them into foods. The stinging part scares me too much to have ventured into trying them raw, but I would love to hear if anyone else has had success.
