Refrigerate them. You may consider freezing too.
I put my flaxseed in glass jars and store in the refrigerator. For space considerations in the fridge, I’m sure you could store the seed in a plastic container or bag rather than glass jars. The flax lasts for quite a while - I make a LOT of flax crackers so I generally use it up within a month or so, but it would probably be okay for longer than that.
