sore throat remedy?

chicorychicory Raw Newbie

Don’t feel ill besides a sore throat. I think i may mouth breathe at night, which may be causing it, although it would usually be gone by now. I used to make my own throat remedies, but they were cooked. Any ideas or recipes?

  • Gargling with warm salt water and cayenne is probably the best solution I have used. Colloidal silver spray is great for killing bacteria and can reduce pain and inflammation as well.

  • Raw honey works really well. :)

ginger and licorice root tea, esp. licorice! and apple cider vinegar is the all-time miracle worker!!! Just take a quick 1 TB shot of it and within 15 minutes you will notice that your throat is seriously better! you have to make sure its the braggs raw ACV however.

  • I used to use honey and lemon flavour strepsils…so i thought, why not just take the honey and lemon from it? i put about 1/3 of a lemon, and a tablespoon of organic honey in a cup, and put hot water over it. Done. It’s so nice i have it even when i’m fine…Unless you put too much lemon in it. PS if you have a throat infection, if you have much lemon it can really sting.

i have pus on the back of my throat now….. i’m beginning to think it is an infection :(

  • Oh no! The best natural anti-biotic type stuff I know of is olive leaf. Tinctures are probably stronger, but you can make tea from the dried leaves. Making a broad spectrum anti-biotic would probably help you out very well too (neem, oregano, etc).

If you can handle raw garlic, try eating 2-3 cloves a day until the infection subsides. You really need to chew the whole clove in order for the full effect. Some people are sensitive to allium especially in this form of consumption and skin blistering can occur. Sadly, I am one of those people. :(
