Yes, you typically need more calories and fat during that time for your body to complete the menstruation preparation and processes. I’d be surprised if you weren’t like this before on a diet including cooked food….is this a new phenomenon for you?
not really sure… I think since I started this way of eating, I have just become more thoughtful of what my body is going through. I used to get sugary cravings… just don’t remember my tummy feeling this empty!

I’ve been chomping away like mad… first month raw vegan (former veggie) and I could merrily sit in front of the fridge and plough my way through it all!
I figured out why i was so hungry! I have about 25 pounds of peaches from a pick your own orchard, and have been trying to eat them before they go bad. I had no idea a peach is only about 40 calories! I’ve been mostly stuffing myself with like, 8 a day, Plus the last few days I haven’t really been eating as many nuts or seeds, so although I’ve been stuffing myself, my meals have been really low in calories.
I get the worst cooked food cravings when I am PMSing.. It is all I can do to make it through that week raw.. I am hoping as I heal, it will get better..
I guess I am in sync with the Moon too.. as today was my start.. :) Very interesting.
