Have you ever had the white Maca? If not, it tastes like malt. Like chocolate malt balls, with out the chocolate. I have never had the red but this would be a good comparison.
I found the red maca to be a little more mild tasting and not as effective. A good quality white maca or gelantanized maca always does the the trick. I had the first reaction when I started to take maca. I remember I would mix it with bananas and berries and it would totally mess up the whole drink. Mix maca with cacao powder or nibs,some sweetener, and some coconut oil and you will have something very delicious. You will begin the malty taste of maca that you will be able to increase the dosage. I believe that I got to 5 tbls once and that was intense! Hope this helps out a bit.
I found some of the white but it is in capsule form. If I open them up will they be the same thing? or do they use something different for that?
beany and humanimal, Thanks for the info! Does white have that stanky smell and foul aftertaste? Can you guys recommend a brand?
