Anyone have suggestions?
i know you can make sun-dried bread, or simply throw it in the oven on the lowest setting. you may have to experiment.
Ive read of people doing the sun-dried thing for crackers. Basically lay out your dough on whatever surface, set it outside where you get all day sun, put a thin cover over to prevent bugs or other things falling into it, flip as needed. I think its helpful if youve got a flat stone to set it on as it retains the heat of the sun.
Maybe give this a go with a simple flax cracker recipe?
Also you can use cheese cloth on top of screening so the air can flow and cover the bread with the cheese cloth as a critter shield... smile
Put your oven on the lowest setting but if you can't get it to 100 degrees, prop the oven door open slightly. Try it out first with something simple like tomatoes before you go to the expense of dried bread.
I am curious about this too - any other alternatives out there?
i have made pancakes without a dehydrator and just stuck them in the freezer to harden them up. maybe you could do the same with your bread recipe. just line a pan with parchment paper and freeze the bread for a little while. i froze mine for 20 minutes and it hardened up enough for the pancakes not to fall apart.
Here is a recipe I found on the internet for Essene bread. I noticed that it called for being cooked at 150F in the OVEN (or out in the sun). Maybe this will work for you. I had in my mind that the Ezekiel bread (we have it at our healthfood store) was cooked under 150F, but when I looked it up on the internet it only is advertised as sprouted (but not raw). If your 100% raw that won't work for you. But the Essene bread would:

marking this - great suggestions
After using my oven one time for dehydrating and receiving my electric bill, I decided not ever to do that again.
