hulled millet - a problem

Hi!

Unfortunately I bought a big bag of hulled millet - I wanted them for sprouts. Since I'm quite new to raw food diet I didn't realise that they should be un-hulled! And I already see that these hulled will not sprout as many grains are broken. Have you got any ideas how could I use them raw in the kitchen?or maybe the only way is to give them to birds?

I'd be grateful for any suggestions

i think you can still soak them and use the millet that way. they wont be 'live' but they will be 'raw'. also im sure the birdies wouldn't mind a share.

  • I use hulled millet that I have soaked, then dried @ 100 degrees in the food dehydrator as ingredients in raw granola, eat it alone as cereal with almond mylk and sliced bananas, you can grind/blend it fine and use it in raw bread and cracker recipes.

  • Thanx for the answers. I love raw buckwheat in that way so hope to like millet too;-)
