Hi Dea Smiles! I was just wondering- have you noticed any after effect of drinking Maca in a positive way? I wanted to get some and wondered if it had noticable properties.
I got some maca in capsule form to try it out, because I’d heard about all the health benefits and the energy boost. The first time I took it I really did notice the energy boost, big time! And now ever since then when I take it I get sleepy and have the total reverse effect. Weird. I haven’t tried any of the other superfoods you can get online, at least not the gogi berries or algae or anything like that. I’ve read that foods such as spinach, blueberries, kale, etc. are considered superfoods, and I eat lots and lots of those. :o) Jen
One of the main thing people say they notice when they take maca is their sexual drives go up. I don’t take it so I can’t really say but I hear it over and over again. (I probably should be taking it since my sex drive is low – my bf would be so happy! ha ha!).

Goji Berries are very high in Vitamin C.
Yes, superfood means basically “super nutritious” – the foods are very high in certain vitamins or minerals – more than any other foods around.
Spirilina is a good protein source if you are concerned about protein.
Here a basic article on superfoods http://www.eatraw.com/custom.aspx?id=6
Be careful when you look online for information superfoods – some non-rawies consider yoghurt a superfood. People seem to be throwing the term around loosely for any food lately.
In the raw world, David Wolfe is the authority on superfoods. Look at his site (the sunfood link above) – he sells most of the raw superfoods.
Superfoods are overrated and in my opinion a complete waste of money. Do the research, try them for long periods of time you will see they are nothing but marketing hype.
I don’t do much with superfoods because I never really noticed a difference when I took them in the past. If I use anything like goji berries or raw chocolate, it’s because I’m looking for the flavor/texture, rather than using it for “superfood” purposes. Cheers!
