  • I think that is a good perspective to have.  I know my coffee isn't raw, but I'm not giving it up (not that it can compare to your nutrient rich foods, it's just my life elixir).
  • I think that anything at or below food dehydrator temperatires is still raw, but I'm curious to find out what others think.
  • I'm curious about what the diet looks like too. I assume sugars are limited, but are there other healthy foods added in that specifically target a body that needs to get back in balance and heal?
  • I think that those experts may be right about absorption, Sobini. I have always tried my best to get the majority of my nutrients from food sources because it seems more likely that they will be taken up by the body in that form.
  • Hi Benjamen, It's good to hear that you want to take the final plunge. Personally, I think even 80% is pretty impressive. For me, I've always had a cheat day once a week. I don't always use it, but it's there and when I had cravings for cooked food…
  • Hi Cheyenne - I thought of you when I saw this one - https://www.therawtarian.com/community/f/discussion/11383/quick-and-filling-also-iron#latest I hope you're hanging in there.
  • Hm. My weight loss secret was to find the most flavorful and filling foods with the least amount of calories (I ended up eating a lot of olives). Hopefully someone will come along that can offer a more complete meal plan. lol

  • How are you feeling? I hope the worst is nearly over.
  • Welcome to the site! I used to worry about my coconut oil consumption when trying to lose weight, but I found out that weight loss really is about calories in versus calories out, so it's not what you eat, but how many overall calories you are eatin…

  • Aw. I think the most important thing is to listen to your body. Did you make any changes since yesterday?
  • No problem :) A change from 75-100% is still a 25% change, so it very well could be.  https://www.therawtarian.com/community/f/discussion/2700/low-energy-is-this-detox https://www.therawtarian.com/community/f/discussion/5062/discussions https://…
  • I would suggest adding in some walnuts at least. They go well with salad :) I've run across a few threads on here that talk about getting through the original detox symptoms of going raw. I'll see if I can dig some up for you. They might have some …
  • A vitamin D deficiency can cause hip pain. I'm not sure if it would happen that fast, but it's generally not in sufficient levels in fruit. I would supplement and see if it helps.
  • Are you eating any nuts or avocado? They can help to pack in the calories without much effort. Re: the weight loss.
  • Do you think that you went full raw too fast? A sudden transition to anything can be rough. I'm sorry that you're feeling bad.
  • I lov what can be done with salads. Have you thought about trying the raw creamy garlic broccoli recipe? https://www.therawtarian.com/raw-creamy-garlic-broccoli-recipe

  • Hi, jhiggins, welcome to the site! I'm sorry to hear about your adrenal fatigue. I know it can be beyond exhausting. What have you tried so far? Powerlifer's link doesn't work any more  which is probably why it is gone.
  • Karen, could your stomach problems be from the vacation food? I know it takes me a few days to truly recover from eating out in some locations.
  • That's awesome! Which recipes did you try?

  • The Way Back Machine hasn't logged Gene Fit since 2014. It might be down for good.  http://web.archive.org/web/20140531070430/http://www.genefitnutrition.com/
  • Here is one. I haven't tried it. http://www.eatingvibrantly.com/raw-eggplant-bacon/ It uses agave. You might be right about something sweet being added to nearly every raw recipe.
  • It can be frustratng, but definitely go with what your body says. You are the only one that can keep you on the right path. Have you tried some of the recipes without adding the sweeteners (probably easier for some recipes than for others)?
  • For once, I'm not sure I want to study it too closlely. If I find out that the fresh mint from my garden is bad for me, I'm not going to be happy.
  • Congrats on starting the challenge. Keep us updated on how you are doing!
  •  You'll get there. How do you feel about raw brownies? No dehydrator necessary :)

  • Hi Anna, Welcome to the site.  Have you tried raw soups (can be warmed) as a winter food?  Bananas and nuts are always quick no-nonsense snacks. Lots of other things can be as well, some requiring a little prep, of course. There are raw cracker r…

  • What about Ashwaganda root or Muira Puama?
  • Good information, Adnezal! My seaweed comes from Norway . It doesn't even come close to comparing to Japan's sushi nori when it comes to flavor, but I feel safer knowing that the location hasn't had quite as many environmental problems as the Pacifi…
  • Right? Especially carrot pulp. There's just so much of it. I feel like I'm throwing out the entire carrot.
