  • I'm not sure the cleaning chemical flavor is a good indication. I would see how far the film goes and if the rest of the coconut still smells and tastes okay.
  • Are you eating high-caloric foods like dates, avocado, coconut and bananas?
  • That does sound hectic! All I can say is prepare, prepare, prepare so you always have enough food ready for meals and to pack to bring with you during the chaotic days.

  • Hi Isaline. Congrats on starting your journey!  If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask.
  • It sounds like you'll need to use a "dry container" if you want to grind nuts into a flour as opposed to making them into a butter. I'll have to think about the model.
  • No problem.  There are no set requirements. I think a lot of people drink juice for the convenience.
  • I don't know anyone who doesn't like their Vitamix! How much will you be using it and what will you be using it for? That might help to narrow down the choices.
  • Welcome to the community  That seems like it should be enough food. Some fresh juices in stores are raw, but many are pasteurized (boiled), so it really depends on the brand.
  • A certain amount of salt is necessary for optimal health...just not even near the amount found in processed foods.

  • When a nut is blanched it is parboiled to remove the skin.  When a drink is unpasteurized, the liquid itself has not been boiled. I assume it would be the same for a non-drink (i.e. almonds). So, in a nutshell (pun intended), both words mean prett…
  •  Hi and welcome! Have you tried looking through the member recipes? I know I've seen a few that might work out.  https://www.therawtarian.com/raw-food-recipes
  • It's always nice to have one more on board.

  • I had a cat that loved to chew the tops of all of my pineapples. He didn't seem any worse for it.

  • That's great, Colleen! Mine shows up without fail when I eat lemons. Maybe it's a response to the body being too acidic?

  • Sweet! I love my Vitamix. I would bet anything that you will too.
  • How is it going so far? :)
  • Welcome Naomi and Jay! Naomi, I went wandering the web and some of the muscle building sites list food that is good for it. Obviously, not everything they list is raw vegan (or even vegetarian), but a lot of it can be. I saw cantaloupe, oranges and…
  • Ouch! I hate to say it, but I would see a medical practitioner of one sort or another (whatever you are comfortable with) to make sure there isn't any permanent damage done to your hearing.
  • I think it actually helps with my headaches, but I'm still a light coffee drinker, so I think that plays a huge role.
  • At least they still have the local veggies. I always worry about expensive locations having crazy prices on food.

  • Hi Carrie. Welcome! I'm my own worst enemy when it comes to reaching for snacks in the grocery aisle or grabbing food while on the go. I definitely feel better physically when I manage to eat raw despite the obstacles.  When I'm cooking for someon…

  • Hi Sonia. Welcome! I think it depends on the recipe. It could require some experimentation. You may have to add a little bit less liquid to make up for the the fresh coconut in a few cases. Or if a recipe needs the coconut to be turned into a flour…
  • Welcome to the community :) It seems like you've had a great year!  I think the blood type diet has a lot to do with where your ancestors came from. I'm type A and what I read said I should be eating a mostly sea-based diet (I do love nori). My fa…

  • I get 7-8 hours of sleep per night. It's right for me and I don't wake up still feeling exhausted anymore.
