  • Hi dancharmin10, I thought I’d add my own question here for you as well. It appears that you are in London – a city I will be visiting in the near future. Do you have any recommendations for raw restaurants? Thanks, Kandace
  • I’ve had kombucha many times and actually really enjoy the taste. I started drinking it after my nutritionist suggested I drink it. I’m not sure I can say I notice a difference in my overall health, but I just love the drink and oftentimes crave it …

  • Thanks coconutty and bluejett8! We believe we have found a fix for the site going down as well.
  • Hi Josiegirl, Are you still not seeing the grawnola recipe-? It appears to be back up.
  • Hi writeeternity: Thanks for letting us know. The lemon cookie recipe is loading fine again!
  • Alexandra, I had dark circles under my eyes for most of my life (as has my dad). Last year, I went vegan (after being vegetarian for about 12 years). Then, I did a two week renewal cleanse and started eating raw foods. Somewhere in that time, the ba…
  • I’m so glad this topic is going on! Ray and I are moving from a home studio to an office in two weeks and our eating is going to need to change a bit as a result! I’d especially like to hear if you have any ideas without having a fridge at work, as …
  • Hi Ciara, Welcome to Gone Raw! Looking forward to hearing about your month of raw. Something that helps me quite a bit when detoxing is taking baths with epsom salt. It especially seemed to help whenever I experience headaches.

  • Hi Tessa, One of my favorite dishes to have on hand is hummus and some kind or raw cracker (or cucumbers or baby carrots) for dipping. This dish especially helps when I’m feeling a need for protein.
  • I found the book The China Study to be really helpful in learning about protein and health. A bit about what the book has to say (taken from his website – we keep giving away our copies of actual book), “I uncovered a dark secret. Children who ate t…

  • I’ve been looking for really great breads as well. I went through months of making only onion bread, but my current favorite (and quite easy to make) is this sun-dried tomato bread. The bread is fairly light, but still sturdy enough to make a sandwi…
  • My favorite recipes are quick and easy, like hummus, zuchinni pasta and smoothies. These are more realistic for my day-to-day life. lapetitemort: There is a video on YouTube featuring the “fried” mushrooms. I love actually watching a chef create! h…
  • writeeternity: I believe that Cousins bases his temperatures, in part at least, on findings by the Excalibur dehydrator company who seem to be doing a remarkable job of communicating with raw foodists. Some of what they have to say: We believe this …

  • I went with the black dehydrator and love it.
  • I haven’t dehydrated cherries myself, but have gotten them at our farmers’ market. They’re pretty dark black/brown and taste delicious.
  • There may be a more complicated version than this, but I just scrape the coconut meat out in big pieces and cut into noodle-like strips.
  • I learned about raw after I was eating more vegan and, in the beginning, I thought of raw as only vegan as well. Probably because that is the way I eat. But, actually, there are many raw foodists who aren’t vegan. It is amazing to me that there are …
  • I’ve served stuffed mushrooms at a party before and they went over really well!

  • Working in the same building is definitely something to think about, especially if there are people that might be working in the office when you are home on your own time. I’ve had my office in my house for about 4 years now (moving to a separate sp…
  • I love ume plums, especially in herb encrusted mushroom steak. I bet you could replace the paste for the plums. With the miso, you can make a quick gravy (half cup chickpea miso and half cup water whisked with some seasoning, such as drop of cumin o…
  • I’ve only visited one raw restaurant (Blossoming Lotus in Portland). They used to have a Chef’s Muse option that was always an amazing surprise – I miss it. My favorite dish now is probably the raw pizza, as I rarely take the time to make such a com…
  • Thanks for the encouragement – we’re working on a recipe book! If anyone has particularly favorite recipes, this would be a helpful time to go in and rate them as we’ll be looking through recipe ratings soon. Also, we’d love to hear your thoughts on…

  • Just a quick tip – if you go to the main recipes page and uncheck dehydrator, juicer and food processor, you’ll only see recipes that call for a blender or no equipment at all. At present, there are over 600 of them!
  • Hi leafekat, Thanks so much…glad you are enjoying them. I have my very first garden sprouting up this year, so there will be more fun experimentation coming along!
  • Hello and welcome – we’re glad you are here. And, thanks for sharing your story!

  • Hi Nuttgirl: Before I went vegan, I was the queen of cheese plates and missed them quite a bit at first. Then, I started making plates with avocado slices, raw hummus, olives and raw crackers. It helped quite a bit and I don’t find myself craving ch…
  • There has also been a discussion about drinking wine and even how raw/vegan wine is.
