  • There is no particular season. Coconuts and cacao beans grow in the tropics, and they don’t have a season, but they do require certain conditions to grow. My health food stores have coconuts (both young and mature) all year round.
  • hey guys, you should check out other threads in the Gone Raw forum – this stuff is being talked about. I think the administrators are planning on finishing a major surprise update this weekend with lots of new features and a complete fix of all the …
  • Kandace or Ray I can’t change my profile photo help
  • Oh yes now I get it queenfluff :) I use Safari and I don’t notice the Watch Topic thing either. I don’t use it much but I know a lot of other people do. I have also seen Gone Raw sometimes takes a few seconds to load a page. Nothing that bad really,…
  • Not meaning to go off topic but “It looks like a skeleton in a database program.” Haha made me laugh. :) I agree that IE needs to be fixed. I think K and R use Macs so they don’t use IE but it should be tested.
  • My Mac works so well with Gone Raw, much better than the Dell Vista. I am using Safari and it wrks great. I LOVE the feature that we can add photos to recipes now. Great!
  • Now that this has come up, are there any Avatar: The Last Airbender fans out there? Not as popular but an amazing kids show on Nick that’s admired by adults too.

  • My average day foodwise is lots of pineapple and microgreens, enzymes, and probiotics in the morning, and maybe occasionally a banana pancake. Throughout the day I eat fruit, greens, some salad, coconut ice cream occasionally, a little raw chocolate…

  • I find myself eating avocados more often, too! They are like a raw vegan egg but so much better. ;)
  • You can get unshelled nuts that are really raw, but you have to get them in the shell. Sunfood, rawguru, etc, NONE of it’s raw. I ordered some nuts from Canada so I’m waiting to get them still. People find themselves tapering off of nuts because the…
  • Hey poemomm, sorry your having such a hard time. Now I’m going back on nuts so nevermind about the nut-seed-grain free recipes. Try contacting K&R! Hey map, I’m working on M&Ms, don’t worry!

  • Poemomm your recipes are backkkkkkkkkk!!! Can you post some seed-free-nut-free-and-grain-free recipes? Halloween is comin’ up and raw candy is on the list for me!

  • Frankly I don’t have a big problem with it either, as long as it’s in moderation.

  • Yup, and you can even get them with the fruit on the outside!

  • Hi Zoe (and Tonka), Natural Zing, I mean, not Sunfood. You’re right, Sunfood doesn’t have them. http://www.naturalzing.com/catalog/product_info…

  • I’m with Simon. I don’t have access to the fruit but cacao is bitter and the only times I use it are the raw cocoa powder in certain recipes. I never use more than a couple tablespoons though.

  • durian, have you bought the Naked Chocolate book? I do see where your coming from, though, but what harm is in small amounts?

  • Zoe: have you looked on sunfood.com? They sell raw, unfermented, cacao beans. You can even buy them with the fruit still on it, low-temp dried.

  • Cacao, when raw, is one of the healthiest foods on Earth. It’s only cooked chocolate that’s bad for you. Get David Wolfe and Shazzie’s Naked Chocolate book and read all the health benefits. Always buy truly raw, unfermented, cacao beans. I am more u…

  • We saw that online some weeks back too. My mom drinks a lot of coffee but she has lowered her intake a lot. I was thinking, if we wanted to make a raw coffee out of beans, we would have to mill them into powder and somehow blend it up with almost-ho…
  • Current forms of ethanol are not very clean or sustainable (corn). We need more wind and solar, and cellulosic ethanol. Corn ethanol is a very dirty fuel, not to mention inefficient. It requires so many fossil fuels to produce that it is not worth i…
  • Yup Winona, that b**h kept making up ridiculous statements! Why did she keep smiling when they were talking very seriously about the economy. I watched it till about 10 and then I got the gist. Biden is very experienced, ready, and serious, and I fo…
  • ASPIRE Wow I noticed that too. At least Obama, to some level, respected McCain and looked at him. At the beginning, I thought Obama was a bit passive but he became more aggressive throughout it. I felt that McCain was being manipulative, he was talk…
  • Oh and one other thing about Obama’s energy policy from Scientific American: “Obama has spelled out intermediate milestones foe emissions reductions and specific targets for biofuels and other renewables. How would these goals be enforced? He has pr…
  • Solar power, wind power, and geothermal energy are my top picks! I read in Scientific American also that we could harness all the solar power from the Sahara Desert and somehow transport it throughout the world? And then transport wind power from Si…
  • McCain is going to the debates? Oh, that’s a good thing. One of my biggest concerns in this election IS energy. In the news the other day Comcast reported from 2007 to 2008 the increase in global warming was 3%. If you read the latest Scientific Ame…
  • I agree that should be illegal kevlar
  • One of my biggest concerns about Palin is that she won’t fix they energy crisis, and therefore the economy.
  • LOL!!!!!!! YES! I am definitely not a Palin fan. I wanted Hillary to win before. Palin is just ridiculous, she doesn’t know any thing in my opinion and isn’t qualified to be president of McCain dies. I could be too Democratic but Palin seems ridicul…
  • You can get all the fiber you need from eating fruit. Oranges and citrus are particularly a good source, and pineapple and melons also are great.
