  • This site provides information about the nutrition of coconut water (scroll down to the bottom) http://www.rawguru.com/store/raw-food/certified_organic_young_coconuts.html
  • I agree with the exercise. I'm constantly outside in this weather for long walks. I love walking in the cold.
  • Well the chimpanzees eat termites for b12. lol. I think some freshly picked fruits have very small insects containing the b12. I take a raw vitamin for b12 because I don't have access to fresh picked fruit.
  • I've actually read we may be more genetically similar to monkeys or whatever than neanderthals. Because our diet reflects the ape more than the omnivorous neanderthal. Not sure if it's true but it makes sense.
  • If it ain't labeled certified organic it ain't organic. Plus everything these days that isn't organic is irradiated by law anyway (heat treated therefore dead). I can taste a dramatic difference in storebought ones versus organic ones anyway.
  • I get them from www.genefitnutrition.com although rawguru.com is much cheaper. Superior quality with genefit but I haven't tried the other ones.
  • Hmm, because I can still make awesome nut powders with the wet blade. I don't have a food processor either, and def don't need one.

  • I have a vitamix 4500 and never bought a dry blade, still makes very smooth purees of nuts and stuff if you add a little water, never even knew what the dry blade was for.

  • avocado lover, the problem with those is that they aren't raw unfortunately. Sunfood.com though sells raw kalamata olives.
  • I agree that if you crave cooked food you should eat soup! You can also make a lentil soup by cooking all the flavor of the beans into the soup, fill it with spices, a little salt, and just a small amount of lentils and mostly broth that way it's mo…
  • You're right, none of it makes sense, except that one reason could be bacteria. Like the almonds were pasteurized because of a salmonella outbreak.

  • It is nice to know everything in the world, I have to admit. :D So we need permission to have a garden too? When I first saw this whole thing I was pretty shocked. But Codex passed the almond pasteurization law so they can pass the produce irradiati…

  • Copied and pasted from Tom's post of Giveittomeraw, credit tom if anyone asks Codex Alimentarius is a ruling that would make all food irradiated, worldwide. Irradiated food means it is no longer fresh and raw. All enzymes will be destroyed. Nearly a…

  • Congrats and welcome here! That's the way I feel. I eat very lightly and I never feel like eating anything heavy, I feel great on just fruit, green juice, my algae and just a little fat in a salad for dinner. The light energy is incredible, ain't it…
  • You can make juice by grinding in a blender and straining through a cheesecloth or nut milk bag. Voila, instant juice!
  • broths are totally harmless as long as they are oil-free and instead filled with flavors from spices and a small amount of salt. I see them as more a way around a craving rather than a bad craving. If you do start relying on them what I would do is …
  • I take a lot of hot baths in the winter to stay warm which helps far more than eating a hot steamed vegetable which lasts 20 minutes, the baths are much more substantial in terms of keeping your body warm. You can also drink hot herbal teas letting …
  • You can eat cooked vegetable broth if you get bad cravings with low salt, no oil, and flavor from lots of good spices. They prevent you from falling off the wagon if you crave cooked food and help you get back on raw food after the craving goes away…
  • yea vegan cheese is like crap, lol. i had a hard time giving up milk raw cheese too.
  • I know. The whole Codex thing. There's always a way out though....
  • You can put this in the recipes section by going here: http://www.goneraw.com/node/add and clicking Recipes, and then copying and pasting the detail. :)
  • The blue green algae is my main food besides fruit. It is one of the best things ever! There is a difference between spirulina and the wild version; spirulina is grown in cultures by humans whereas wild blue green algae comes from Klamath Lake. I ge…
  • Hmm, this is fun, I want to grow cherimoyas and durians and sapotes and ice cream beans and oh...the list goes on..how do I get the seeds to plant these things? (I know durian may be very hard lol)
  • I don't see where I can grow them..only links to the scientific facts..or am i wrong.
  • If I put fresh juice in a jar, placed a plastic baggy on top, and sealed the lid over the bag, would that keep the air out for just hours, or would the air still penetrate?
  • that healthyjuicer company has a nutrivac product meant to keep juices fresh and preserve all the nutrients. It keeps air out for three months...it's coming out soon http://www.lexenproducts.com/
  • Wow dudes that hand cranked food processor looks awesome! I would benefit fro one of those. Maybe you could make smooth nut butter by grinding a very long time and adding a little bit of oil? ;-)
  • One of my favorite things is acai, which is an Amazonian superfruit that is the most antioxidant rich food in the world, way farther even than wild blueberries. I like the exotic fruits but the only fruit that really keeps my digestive system in ord…
  • You don't need a sprouting tray. You can just use a jar or bowl. Yes it needs ventilation and you don't actually need a top...just while they are sprouting (after soaking) you don't want water in them except when you rinse them and for them to be mo…
