  • How exciting! Congratulations…are you going to try and do a raw pregnancy? If so, I recommend getting JinJi’s e-book from gardendiet.com about raw pregnancy. It will be a great resource.
  • Wouldn’t breaking it down by blending or juicing help with the digestion? I LOVE Kale juice and when I add Kale to a smoothie, I pulverize it in the blender with water before I add the rest of the ingredients. I have never had a problem and still fe…
  • I was just talking to my husband about whether raw coffee was even possible, so I would love to hear about Juliano’s experiences too!
  • What a great idea Zoe! I like Storm, too….but would actually LOVE to, as you said, grill David Wolfe about his cocao…let’s get to the bottom of this!
  • I personally do not food combine. I consider myself still relatively new to raw food (just under a year), and for me my focus is just staying raw. If I had to worry about food combining on top of that I know I would end up going back to cooked food.
  • Yeah! I am so glad you are taking a 100 day challenge. I am sure that once you get through the detox, you will need no more convincing that raw is the way to go!
  • If you search the forums section under “rhubarb” there was a whole string not too long ago.

  • I know some people get them at asian markets, so if you have any of those, you might want to try there.

  • Zoe, I love raw sugar cane, it is just hard to find where I live. I’ll keep my eye out for it though!

  • I wish I did, I still like to chew gum every once in a while. When I really want gum, and the “craving” doesn’t go away, I choose pelu gum because it is natural and doesn’t have the chemicals that regular gum has.

  • Welcome and kudos for choosing a raw lifestyle! Chris and Zoe’s website, purelyraw.com has a dead food list that is very helpful in determining what is really raw. I still have a few things to use up at my house before I can be 100%, stuff I thought…

  • I LOVE being active! I either run, or use my eliptical (depending on weather) for 1 hour every day and do light toning during the week. On weekends, my family usually gets at least one hike in. My body feels so alive! Also, I get grumpy if I miss my…

  • There are few things more wonderful than raw corn on the cobb. I can’t wait until my corn is grown, until then, I will get it at the store when ever I can!
  • Lately I have been really drawn to cantelope, and also to strawberries….maybe I need more vit. C…LOL!
  • I posted on the other string, but will make it short… Weekdays: running or eliptical, toning Weekends: hiking Other favorites: swimming, physical work in the yard/garden, yogo, pilates, dancing, and playing with my kids

  • I make veggie chips in my dehydrator at 105 degrees. The amount of time varies depending on the type of veggie. I just feel for crunchiness. Oh, and I take them off the teflex sheet and flip them half way through. It usually takes about a day.

  • That is so funny that you bring this up DreamBrother. I was just discussing something similar with my husband regarding the industrial revolution and how it had such profound sociological reprucussions, encompassing family dynamics, economics, and n…
  • el-bo, I hope that you don’t think that you offended me, you did not. (smile) I have just learned from experience that if you want to “teach” something that you feel is important for people to know, the best way to do it is with positive energy, and…
  • That is really cool! I know it’s not as exact as some of the fancy O2 equipment they are promoting at many gyms, but it is good for rough estimates. Thanks for sharing!
  • I’m glad that you are not just an argumentative a^sh&*e just for the hell of it….but while you are offering your information, which is much appreciated, let’s try to remember, like you said, that we are all on a journey, and everybody’s journey,…
  • I do count calories, but that is because I am doing a bit of an experiment on myself. I am counting calories for 6 months, and then I am not going to count calories for 6 months to see the difference. I am a high altitude, endurance athlete, so I am…
  • Good points rawmumma and joesc, I hadn’t thought enough about before answering I think! I was admittedly taking a more “medical” slant on my thinking, going on what they would tell a mom to do if she had to take a temporary medicationn that baby sho…
  • I was done breastfeeding my daughter when I went raw, so I have not done the research on that as of yet. However, I can tell you that fasting or other forms of detoxing (i.e. master cleanse, etc.) is contra-indicated during breastfeeding, so it woul…
  • Since going raw and getting my non-hormone IUD out in December, my periods have become much shorter, my last one only lasting a day and a half. Also, I am not experiencing the severe cramping I used to have (often related to dairy intake). Also, pri…
  • Hi Barose, first off, sorry for your loss. I just wanted to connect with you and let you know that I too have experienced birth loss due to my hypothyroid. I have posted a little about hypothyroid on some other strings on this site. Let me know if y…

  • Nice to meet you Kara! What a great step towards health you are making, and at such a young age..right on! My name is Sunny and I have been raw now for almost 1 year. I started out at about 75%-90%, but am now almost 100%. (I still have a few non-ra…

  • I have heard of this book Om…I will check it out. Thanks!
  • I know for me, before I went raw, and during “transition”, I never used nama shoyu, but would use a soy sauce that I knew was traditionally brewed long enough that the toxins were no longer there. After I decided to take the more questionable stuff …
  • om… the website is www.taoistlife.com If you click on the soy sections there is a summary of the studies as well as the actual studies. Also, there are links to some products that I no longer sell (they weren’t as natural as I was led to believe), s…
