  • You may need to grow it like a chia pet! Both chia and flax get mucilaginous when soaked in water. If you spread the seeds on something pourous but keep the seeds moist, it should grow. I’ve never tried it since going raw, but I did have a chia pet …

  • They may be dehydrating at a higher temperature, essentially cooking them.
  • Try to slice it a little thicker to see if that helps. It might be the papaya you used too. Taste the next one before you dehydrate it to make sure the flavor is right.
  • Your food bill may go up, but your medical bills will go down! You won’t use as much electricity because you won’t be cooking. You won’t be washing as many dishes or having as much trash. You can compost your food scraps and grow some of your own fo…
  • I take it back. Some parts ARE offensive. I just watched a portion of the video on not digesting food and what happens. I could’ve gone forever without seeing that.
  • I’ve been reading this website. I may never eat bananas again! You have some interesting and sometimes conflicting information posted. I need to spend more time there when I have it to spend. The site isn’t offensive, but I’m holding back on shootin…
  • I think this is a hybrid. It may not be grown with pesticide making it considered organic, but it isn’t natural to me. They’ve been around for a long time. Seedless grapes concern me too. Mike Adams did a cartoon about this. This about how seedless …
  • Both of the foods you mention are good, as are brazil nuts (for the selenium). I take Modifilan (raw, brown seaweed extract), but edible forms may work as well. I also east wakame, arame, nori and dulse. I recently posted an article on EVCO and thyr…

  • Hi Writeternity. I’m sorry that I didn’t get back to you sooner. The improvements that I’ve seen are many. I had a laundry list of symptoms. I’m in a wheelchair, but I can stand (where that seemed unlikely before) and I feel like a healthy person wi…

  • deborahann-I was tested by a homeopathic doctor using a biofeedback frequency machine. I learned that low thyroid (which can cause the symptoms you describe) can be a result of metal toxicity, which also leads to candidiasis, which leads to leaky gu…

  • I was diagnosed with MS and Lyme disease 4 years ago. I began eating raw, actually drinking raw juices, out of necessity, since I wasn’t able to physically prepare cooked meals. I got better with the juicing and decided to do more research. I’ve now…

  • I eat a variety of fruits and greens daily in a smoothie. I usually eat 2tbs. ground flax a day. I sometimes eat pumpkin seeds instead. I have avocados at least twice a week. I fill in the gaps with other vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouts. I make des…

  • I grind it and sprinkle it on salad, put it in smoothies, use it as a thickener… It’s a good source of fiber, which is key to keeping a clean colon. I left out crackers!

  • I don’t even like the taste of “raw” cashews much. They contain a caustic phenolic resin that is also in poison ivy. I suppose raw macadamias (if it’s possible to get truly raw ones) would be a good substitute. Eating at restaurants is equivalent to…

  • Aren’t you concerned about the temperature when sun-drying? I’m in northest NM right now, but I’m moving to Texas where it gets hot. I used to be a Phoenix area snowbird and had to leave in the summer because it got so hot. The temp out of the sun c…
  • Satnam, what you think is food might be yeast from candidiasis. You might want to check that out.
  • I don’t always use toothpaste. I sometimes use seasalt, sometimes TriMedica MSM toothpaste. Sometimes I just brush with water. I don’t want to kill the bacteria in my mouth that makes B-12.
  • Just don’t buy a Jack Lalanne juicer! It has too may parts to clean and it’s a centrifugal juicer, it allows too much air in, causing oxidation. Get a masticating juicer if you can.
  • You can grind brown rice before soaking it and it will be farina (cream of rice). I posted an instructional on how to sprout brown rice if you want to try that. It has nuritional info as well. You might do better with digestive enzymes for awhile un…

  • This is a good example of how good you feel eating naturally raw. How happy are you when you get your food from the grocery store? Not happy enough to write about it I’ll bet. Now you have a real connection with your food. Congratulations!
  • Great chart. I used to drink Imagine Food’s Rice Dream milk when I dropped dairy from my diet. When Imagine Foods was purchased by Hain’s, I quit that too and went raw about the same time. Hain’s has a bad reputation. It doesn’t matter if these food…
  • Here’s a good site by Dr. Mercola that explains probiotics and offers a product for sale. I don’t take this because I drink kombucha tea for the probiotics, but many members of my MS group do. http://www.mercola.com/products/complete-probio…

  • I try to remember that if I cheat, I’m only hurting myself. I don’t want to do that, so I don’t give in when I’m surrounded by people eating toxic food, like chips. I have a point to make after all. Why eat raw if you don’t believe in what it can do…
  • I’m hardly ever hungry since eating raw. I don’t always eat three meals a day, but sometimes I snack on fruit, celery or nuts. I drink green smoothies daily.

  • Sometimes dehydration is misinterpreted as hunger. Drink a lot of water a half an hour before meals and see if this helps. Congratulations for surviving the chicken craving!

  • I think transition over time is the way to go. There isn’t any reason to clog the system by causing more toxins to build up than can’t be eliminated quickly. I kind of learned that the hard way.
    in detox? Comment by alpdesigns
  • Detox is the cleansing of the body from toxins. It entails a healing/detox reaction that is different for everyone. Sometimes it’s a rash and other times it could be sinus headaches or depression. Depending on what toxins or how many you have, there…
