  • I think it’s more like a malted milk ball. Not at all caramelly like a milk dud.

  • It’s a very good book. The vice cream is expensive to make, with all of the nuts, but it is worth it to occasionally splurge! And, by the way rawclaire, you said that you already ordered the book and asked for sample recipes for your birthday party …
  • I’ve been thinking about this. You might want to strain the mushroom mix after blending. A nut milk bag would be ideal, as you could squeeze the liquid out. Save the pulp for a pattie of some kind or anything else that you can come up with.
  • I’m with mandelicious and the marinated mushrooms, but I think that dehydrating them will give a stronger flavor. Blend with a little water, lemon and seaweed as Zoe recommends and you might have it!
  • I saw a great recipe for “fried” zucchini on: http://www.thedailyrawcafe.com/search/label/app… These might replace the chips and you could make a raw ranch dressing to dip them in. I haven’t made these yet, but I’m going to asap (without the nama sh…
  • Garlic is descriminatory and kills pathogens, but leaves the good guys alone. It’s much healthier than anti-biotics and is necessary for sulphur pathways. If it’s so deadly, why are there so many Italians who live long lives? I say yes to moderate a…
  • Several of them say raw nuts, but I doubt that any of them are trully raw since heat is used in shelling. Buy in-shell nuts and crack them yourself if this is a major concern for you. Here are some options: http://www.nutsonline.com/tag/raw+nuts www…
  • I don’t eat tomatoes, legumes or grains because of lectins. I was tested for sticky blood several years ago because my circulation was bad. I was also tested for allergens and those same foods came up positive for sensitivity. Olives are anti-inflam…
  • I’m type A and I have difficulty with tomatoes. The book by Peter D’Adamo also refers to excreters and non excreters, but I don’t know in which category that I fall. Type A is supposed to do well with fruits and vegetables and I do. Many of the food…
  • Yes Zooey, you could probably stand to eat more, especially if this represents your typical daily diet and you are still transitioning.
  • You may have to experiment to find the right combination of foods that work for YOU. I can’t eat tomatoes and I stopped eating mangos, so those would be wrong for ME. There isn’t one diet that works for all. Eat something different tomorrow and see …
  • I made a green smoothie using swiss chard and didn’t devein it first. The veins tangled around the blades and burned out my blender.
  • Dr. Vivian V. Vetrano has this to say about B12: http://www.roylretreat.com/articles/b12.html

  • My Oster Fusion blender has a food chop function and two direction blades for chopping. It also has a glass container. This is making me re-think wanting a Vitamix!
  • You can use a blender, or you can chop them finely with a sharp knife.
  • rawrach, the word strawberries only comes up if it’s in the title. It doesn’t come up if the author calls it “rawberries”, for example.
  • I think that unusual names make it hard to look up recipes for certain things, especially when there are no pictures. I would like for there to be a way to look for ingredients, for example strawberries, and have all recipes with strawberries come u…
  • I wonder about anything sundried. The sun in Texas will fry an egg on the sidewalk. Being sundried doesn’t necessarily mean raw. I think the process is important.
  • eBay! There is a seller with a good reputation selling a 4 tray Excalibur, with free shipping, for $109.00. Great price, no bidding, buy in now.
  • The Japanese use it in rice balls. Maybe you can use the plums in a version of raw rice. I like umeboshi plum vinegar. If it isn’t raw, it’s fermented and living.

  • I take it and I have improvement in the dexterity of my hands when I do. I also stand better (I’m in a wheelchair). I take 6 caps a day, sometimes more if I need it. Each capsule is 1000 mg.

  • You should sell something that you can ship easily and that the Health Dept. approves. You’ll have to find out what is required on a label and how long the item lasts in the mail. There is more to this than you can imagine.
  • Peel them, chop them into cubes, add water and seasoning and blend them until smooth. Add onions or herbs, even greens. Pour it over chopped mushrooms or grated vegetables for texture. You can also make the sweet potatoes into pasta and use the sauc…
  • Put them in the blender and make soup.
  • You know, most shelled nuts use heat in the process of shelling. They are still better than those that are chemically pasteurized, which some are. If this is the only way to eat nuts anymore, then heat shelled nuts are a better option than SAD food.…
  • They say so. Their almonds are unpasteurized according to the site. They have an ‘800’ number. Maybe you could call and ask. I hope so because this looks like a great site. They specify between roasted and raw. The unshelled nuts are raw, I would th…
