  • I used to really like raweos! I guess they got me through for a while when I first transitioned. I did eat the carob mint kiss (same brand) at Christmas, to keep me away from all the junk at my brother’s house (We stayed there, so I didn’t have all …
  • Winona – that’s awesome!
  • A friend I was helping transition to raw and learn how to make raw food, after I had helped her for a while, she told me about some recipe she found here, but she assuned I already knew about it! :)
  • Very cool! The more raw food businesses the better, I say! Congratulations on your coming marriage, too :) I have been eating mostly raw, most of the time for almost 3 years. The past week was the last time I go to cooked food – Even though it was w…

  • I agree – so sorry. This site is full of supportive people AND good food/recipes.
  • I wish more chiropractors were aware of all the avenues of healing. I like my chiropractor a lot, but one day when I started talking to him about emotional connections to certain illnesses/parts of the body, he just looked at me like I was speaking …
  • I soooo want to go to the chiropractor, but I probably won’t have the money for it for at least a month or so :( That’s awesome that it’s helping you so much!
  • My chiro was my dad’s chiro first. When my dad first went, he had something like the flu. Chiro adjustment, and immediately the flu was gone! Just to show/explain it, the chiro adjusted him back to where he was before – instant flu again! I know it’…
  • Cool! Good to “meet” you! Can’t wait to read more of your posts/ideas/questions. I have been eating mostly raw for almost 3 years, but I want to learn to use sprouted wheat – let me know how it goes and what you make with it!

  • I have a juicer that juices soft and hard veggies well, so I like to use that and skip the pulp. If you want the fiber, you can just blend. Or, you can blend and then strain through a nutmilk bag or sprout bag to get rid of the pulp. Whatever works …

  • I think they just don’t work well in most juicers. Gabriel Cousens gives his clients green veggie juices, sometimes with tomato, and I have tried them that way. It was good.

  • By the way, I remember not wanting to admit that I was in a bad situation, even though I knew it sounded that way when I talked to someone about it. Best thing I ever did was to get professional help – even though it was scary/hard to admit somethin…
  • Yeah, there is nothing wrong with getting help with something you don’t know how to change/handle.
  • Yeah, I guess I didn’t know if you didn’t see it as a serious problem – eating disorder. I have done a lot of research on eating disorders, and what you are describing needs professional help/intervention. Sorry if I stepped out of my bounds here – …
  • Oh, yeah – Why is it you say you can’t see a professional for this?
  • What is it that’s making you feel like you don’t deserve to live and be happy? Remember that other people’s opinions and actions aren’t who you are. Green juices can be helpful if you don’t feel like eating – throw in some spirulina for extra nutrie…
  • heyitsmahsa – true for me!
  • I checked out the calorie counter from that link – kind of fun.
  • I had also heard taking calcium supplements helps to get rid of calcium deposits, bone spurs, and kidney stones (doctors will tell you the opposite – to avoid the calcium, but I have talked to people for whom the calcium supplements worked).

  • My mom once had a calcium deposit in her elbow. She accidentally whacked her elbow one day and then it went away. Maybe you could just hit it with a hammer and see if that breaks it up? ;) HAHAHA Sorry, no other advice for now. :)

  • Artisana brand almond butter is really raw, if interested. It’s also the super-yummiest! Most of their other nut butters have some cashews mixed in, though.
  • You can also use cheesecloth over a frame if you don’t have the screen, or if you have little fruit flies that get through the holes in the screen.
  • That’s great! Our local health food store is awesome about ordering in items that customers request, because a raw-foodist a few years ago started telling them about stuff that she and other raw foodies would buy. It’s true that we can make a differ…
  • Everyone is different – find what works. mewmewmint has a good plan :) Victoria Boutenko and her family healed their health problems by eating “any amount and combination” of foods, as long as it was all raw (“Raw Family” book by Victoria Boutenko).…

  • Me too, me too – I want to play! :D I was underweight when hospitalized a couple of weeks ago, ate like crazy for a week or so (the 2 days that I counted the calories I had eaten, it was over 3,000 per day!)and gained back all the weight, and now to…
  • worley – :D
  • Yeah, all the people mentioned by AKAAuburneyes have different opinions, but the Clements are not the only ones whose methods work for curing serious illnesses – everyone is different. I believe that it is important to read different opinions and do…
  • Plantain? The only plantain I know about looks like a banana, only bigger & it’s more starchy. Am I missing something?

  • I never rinse or soak them, but then I read on the package to rinse them before using. I did it once, but now I still never rinse them. I’m too lazy to do what doesn’t seem necessary. Plus, if I only eat half a package, then there is still some of t…
  • I use the sea tangle ones – the expiration date is usually months away. If you only use part of a package, just fold the top over and tape it shut so they don’t dry out. I love them with sun-dried tomato alfredo-tyoe sauces. I put the sauce on and l…
