  • Well it’s 50/50 whether we’re going to USA at the moment. It depends on whether we get enough funding to set up our center here, if not, then we’re off to Viginia, to a place near Charlottesville. Tonka will be coming too, maybe he and Blueberry wou…

  • All oats are streamed to prevent germination and to stop worms and bugs eating them. Bugs are clever they won’t touch cooked oats! Some raw food websites like Alissa Cohen and RawLiving have sources for oats which they claim are truly raw. I know Ra…

  • I did this with all my ingredients, but just as a word of caution, I found in at least 3 or 4 times that even when the producer says it the product was raw it was not upon further investigation. Once I asked 4 companies if their cacao nibs were ferm…
  • You detox out of your skin too, and all those toxins coming out of your pores makes your skin dry and itchy. It should pass soon though. You might have to start using raw vegan skin products, like home made moisturiser and cleanser. I have found tha…
  • Raw Nama Shoyu – punnet of mushrooms plus 2 cloves garlic plus splash olive oil plus 1/2 to 1 teasp salt…massage together and leave to marinade. The liquid that comes out of it is exactly like Nama shoyu, and you get some tasty mushrooms to munch on…
  • Many people use honey because it isn’t harmful to your health like dairy and eggs are. Some vegans aren’t that strict and eat honey, wear leather and wool etc. I guess it comes down to whether you’re vegan for health or moral/ethical reasons. Here i…

  • There was a video on youtube from ‘blind guru’, and they were saying that the most densely nutritious part of the pineapple was the core and the leaves! They put them into a smoothie. Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ynIa3bPuMA

  • I used to love potatoes, especially roasted, and I loved coffee. Right now my favourite recipe is my version of Queen Fluff’s Raw Bacon- It is wonderful, I am constantly making it! And my favourite food is peaches, in season at last:) And spinach.

  • If you’re lonely start a potluck!!! We started our 4 months ago and now I have about 40 raw vegan friends ;))) I thought me and my hubby were the only ones in my area, and so did everyone else who turns up every month at our house. We love our potlu…

  • Only oil which says it is unfiltered is raw. They use heat to filter it no matter if it is cold pressed or/and first pressing. I use Tescos organic unfiltered, or Belarzu.
  • Well I would go for “Natures First Law, the raw food diet” by Dini Arlin and Wolfe. It is full on all about why raw is good. It is very full on but it is all true! I love it. I think it is a book that appeals to men. Also “Blatant Raw Food Propagand…
  • There is some evidence floating around on the net about raw food and freezing. I am sorry to be so vague…I just remember clearly reading that someone measured and 50% of the enzymes were alive after freezing…still better than cooking but not as good…
  • I think gagging is a good sign your body doesn’t want it. I can’t get maca down my throat without gagging and vomiting so I gave up on it. I have been experimenting with green algae, and I think that it is best for me to have them just now and again…

  • Did anyone see Firefly? I loved that series, such a shame they took it off.
  • For me greens really calm me down and balance me out. If I don’t have them I feel jittery and speedy. I have been using spirulina recently to up my green intake, and it has got me feeling very relaxed and calm. Yoga and excerise also helps me a lot,…

  • Hia Stickybumps, I’d like to answer your question but it would help to know a little more about you? Like for instance: What do you eat now? What are your reasons for juice fasting? Are you on any medication? How long have you been raw?

  • Champion, it makes juicing so easy and quick. I didn’t use it for the first 2 years but now I use it 4 or 5 times a week. I really wouldn’t want to be without it. I use regular food processors and blenders instead of a vitamix. They work just fine f…

  • In case anyone’s looking for a good brand of henna/natural dye, Lush’s “caca” henna range is amazing, the best I have ever used. I grate it in the food processor!
